Out of 2,300 entries nationwide, a documentary produced by ECHS seniors Arlette Mendez and Divina Moreno and South City High senior Natalia Chevez Molina were part of a group of 150 entries that received honorable mention in March as part of the 2021 Student Cam competition.
The three students participate in Skyline College’s Middle College program and collaborated on a project entitled “The Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women Epidemic”.
C-SPAN selected one overall grand prize winner and awarded first place to three entries at the high school level and one at the middle school level.
There were 16 second place winners, four of which represented middle schools.
Third place consisted of 32 entries, eight of which were middle schools.
