Here’s What SSFUSD’s New COVID-19 Dashboard Shows

A new dashboard created by South San Francisco Unified School District (SSFUSD) to track weekly COVID-19 cases at schools and across the district shows a surprisingly low number of cases for a district of its size.

SSFUSD currently serves about 8,000 students in South San Francisco, Daly City, and San Bruno.

Updated weekly, the dashboard’s low numbers mean that San Mateo County’s high vaccination rate in combination with the safety measures the district has implemented and the health protocols school leaders are following appear to be controlling the spread of the virus in SSFUSD.

Many of the cases appear to be the result of community spread, rather than intra-school spread, and shows that the decisions students, parents, and employees make outside of school make a difference.
