New Agreement Between SSFUSD and Teachers Eases Inflation Anxiety

South San Francisco Unified School District (SSFUSD) recently reached a new tentative agreement with the South San Francisco Classroom Teachers Association (SSFCTA), the South San Francisco Federation of Adult Educators (SSFFAE) local 6179, chapter #197 of the California School Employees Association (CSEA), and its unrepresented employees.

"Many thanks to the members of the negotiation teams for their hard work," said SSFUSD Superintendent Dr. Shawnterra Moore. "It has always been my goal to have a positive, collaborative relationship with our bargaining units and employees. After all, the most valuable asset our district has is our employees!"

The agreement with CSEA chapter 197, which was approved by the school board at its February 23 meeting, will provide members with a 5% salary increase retroactive to July 1, 2022.

CSEA chapter #197 members will also receive a 5% salary increase beginning July 1, 2023, followed by a 3% salary increase on July 1, 2024.

The agreement with SSFCTA, which was approved by the school board at its December 15 meeting, follows a similar pattern.

Teachers will receive a 5% salary increase retroactive to July 1, 2022, followed by a 5% salary increase beginning July 1, 2023, and a 3% salary increase on July 1, 2024.

Meanwhile, the tentative agreement between the district and SSFFAE members calls for a 5% salary increase retroactive to August 15, 2022.

SSFFAE members will also receive a 4.5% salary increase beginning in the 2023-24 school year followed by a 3% salary increase in the 2024-25 school year.

The new agreement with SSFFAE was approved by the school board at its February 9 meeting.

Finally, the district's unrepresented classified employees will also receive a 5% salary increase retroactive to July 1, 2022, followed by a 5% salary increase for the 2023-24 school year and a 3.0% salary increase for the 2024-25 school year.

The agreement with SSFUSD's unrepresented employees was approved by the school board at its March 9 meeting.
