Dear SSFUSD Community,
I wanted to take this opportunity to wish each of you a happy, safe, joyful holiday season! Before winter break begins, I want to thank you all for your engagement and support this year. There is so much to acknowledge and celebrate from the first part of our school year!
We are putting the final touches on our new strategic plan, which could not have happened without the input and participation of our parents, students, partners, and SSFUSD employees.
We’ve also had incredible academic accolades with our College Board Recognition Award recipients and National Merit Scholarship quarter finalists! Additionally, we’ve had an amazing athletic season with South San Francisco High School winning a Central Coast Section (CCS) football championship for the first time since 1989, a feat that has brought so much excitement and spirit to South San Francisco as a whole.
Now we are closing out the year 2023, with a series of winter concerts at our schools featuring heartwarming band, chorus, and drama performances by our amazing students. We would not be able to celebrate any of these wonderful occasions without you, your children, or the rest of our collective community!
This holiday season, I hope that you take the opportunity to demonstrate genuine love and caring to those around you. Remember to slow down, take the time to be introspective, and create the space to savor and appreciate all that you have as well as all the marvelous things that we share as a community.

Quería aprovechar esta oportunidad para desearles vacaciones felices, seguras y alegres. Antes de que comiencen las vacaciones de invierno, quiero agradecerles por su participación y apoyo este año. ¡Hay mucho que reconocer y celebrar en la primera parte de nuestro año escolar!
Estamos dando los últimos toques a nuestro nuevo plan estratégico, que no podría haber sucedido sin la contribución y participación de nuestros padres, estudiantes, compañeros y empleados de SSFUSD.
¡También hemos recibido extraordinarios reconocimientos académicos con los ganadores del Premio de Reconocimiento de la Junta Universitaria y los cuartofinalistas de la Beca de Mérito Nacional! Además, hemos tenido una temporada atlética increíble con la escuela secundaria de South San Francisco ganando un campeonato de fútbol americano en la Sección Central de la Costa (CCS) por la primera vez desde 1989, una hazaña que ha traído tanta emoción y espíritu a la comunidad de South San Francisco.
Ahora estamos cerrando el año 2023 con una serie de conciertos de invierno en nuestras escuelas con presentaciones de bandas, coros y teatro de nuestros estudiantes asombrosos. ¡No podríamos celebrar ninguna de estas maravillosas ocasiones sin ustedes, sus hijos o el resto de nuestra comunidad colectiva!
Estas vacaciones, espero que aprovechen la oportunidad para demostrar amor genuino y el cuidado a todos. Recuerden bajar la velocidad, tómense el tiempo para ser introspectivos, y creen el espacio para saborear y apreciar todo lo que tienen, así como todas las cosas maravillosas que compartimos como comunidad.
